LONELINESS OF GRIEF
Sofia Gamazova, 16, Kazakhstan
The illustration is drawn when the author was 15 years old. This picture conveys the emotions that I feel when I remember the heroism of women who were left without their husbands and support during the Second World War. “Sometimes it seems to me that the soldiers, From the bloody fields that did not come, Once upon a time they did not fall into this ground, And they turned into white cranes. ” – from this saying, which inspired me to create this picture, you can learn about the fear of death, death on the battlefield. I wanted to portray death or, in other words, the transformation into a bird with the help of one empty place in the wedge and a girl who never waited for her narrowed down from the military front.
