My work is about having the courage to stand up against adversity, to “dare to stand”. In it, features a female warrior with a red cape draped over her shoulder- in which, red represents strength. The background is coloured a gradient of black to red surrounding the female warrior- as I wished to show that being courageous against anything the world or society may throw to them (represented by the colour black) showcases strength. Whilst using her sword as support, I wish to showcase her in the act of getting up from after being beaten down by whatever enemy she may face. Her skin as well as hair are white as I wanted for the warrior to be able to represent any skin or hair colour, since white can be coloured into any other colour. beside her are borages, which in flower language represents courage.
